Anders Image from https://press.nationalgallery.org.uk/archive/exhibition.aspx?id=312 Terms and Conditions: Background The Board of Trustees of the National Gallery (?National Gallery?, ?we? or ?us?) have a number of digital files which are made available to you by the National Gallery Press Office on the terms set out in this agreement (each an ?Image?, together the ?Images?). Each Image: is either owned by us or by a third party (the ?Owner?); and relates to a temporary exhibition at the National Gallery (an ?Exhibition?). Licence We hereby grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use and reproduce each Image worldwide solely for press and publicity purposes for the duration set out in paragraph 4 in the form described in paragraph 5 (the ?Licence?). You may only use an Image prior to and during the period that the Exhibition it relates to is open to the public (the ?Licence Period?). You must not use or retain an Image after the Exhibition it relates to has closed to the public, and any such use or retention is at your own risk. For example, if the Gallery uploads an Image for an Exhibition on 1 January 2023 and the Exhibition is open to the public until 30 June 2023, you may use that Image from 1 January 2023 and up to and including 30 June 2023, after which your Licence to use that Image expires and you must not use the Image. If you are unsure about the dates of the Licence Period, please contact the National Gallery Press Office. We may provide a number of different Images of identical subject matter, each with different image resolutions. You may only use the Images as follows: Images containing ?X[number]? and ?-print? in their file name must only be used in print format (albeit not for print cover use, for which written consent from the National Gallery Press Office is required); Images containing ?X[number]? and ?-online? in their file name must only be used for online articles or blog posts (but not on social media platforms); Images containing ?X[number]? and ?-socialmedia? in their file name must only be used on social media platforms (such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter). If there is no Image containing ?-socialmedia? in its file name made available to you, you must not use Images for this purpose; and Images containing ?NG[number]? in their file name can be used in print format, for online articles or blog posts and on social media platforms. You must, as a condition of the Licence: obtain (at your own expense) all permits and consents necessary for the use of the Image (for example, relating to artist?s copyright); only make use of the Image for the purposes outlined in this agreement and not for any commercial purpose; only use the Image during the Licence Period; ensure that any reproduction of an Image is a true reproduction and you must not crop, edit, manipulate, adapt or alter the Image without our prior written consent; ensure that each reproduction of the Image contains the following credits: (i) the artist; (ii) the title; (iii) any copyright notice or text provided by a third party under paragraph 6(a); and (iv) the copyright notice that we supply to you, such credit to be placed as close as possible to the parameters of the Image; not grant any sub-licences under this agreement without our prior written consent; not exercise the Licence in any way that is or renders the Image obscene, indecent, defamatory or in breach of the privacy or any other rights of a third party or of any law anywhere in the world, or disparages, disrespects or brings into disrepute us, the Owner or any artwork contained in the Image; not amend, adapt, use or position the Image in a way that is contrary to our values or so as to suggest that you, us, the Owner or any person appearing in the Image endorses any commercial product or service, any political party, belief or cause; permanently destroy or delete from your computer all copies of the Image by the expiry of the Licence Period and provide us with evidence of such deletion on request; and comply with all applicable law whilst exercising your rights and obligations under this agreement. You must immediately notify us in writing if any of the following matters come to your attention: any actual, suspected or threatened infringement of copyright in an Image; and any claim made or threatened that an Image infringes the rights of any third party.
