Ever heard of something called the Neural Story Net? 🧠

I've never heard of this brain circuit before, but evidently it is a collection of neurons that processes what we learn in story form.

In fact we may be predisposed to processing things in this way.

According to this theory, humans are predisposed to noticing certain patterns of change--like stories.

These patterns of change structure information so that it sticks in our brains the first time we learn it.

Sound familiar?

🎯 This neural story net may be part of *why* stories are so memorable.

And as if that wasn't enough, not only do stories organize information memorably, they also organize information motivationally--when done right.

1️⃣ For example, stories that encourage us to anticipate the future do so by triggering the release of dopamine.

Think that entirely out of pocket cliffhanger at the end of Moon Knight 🌙

2️⃣ And stories we can see ourselves in do so by triggering the release of oxytocin.

3️⃣ Funny stories? Endorphins.

⚠️ Hypothesis alert ⚠️: Maybe it's the release of these neurotransmitters that make these patterns of change particularly noticeable to the brain?

As you can see, I'm still exploring this theory, but it *is* interesting.

And if any of it bears out, it means there may be pretty predictable ways of shaping memorable stories for brands💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿

Predictable beats we can strike that will help make us more impossible to ignore.

And frankly, we love to see it.
